Duck Derby
Our annual Duck Derby and Country Fair continues to attract families eager for a fun day out. How many places can you go to where you can not only park for £1 but also gain entry for the same price and children go free! It certainly seems to be a winning formula as people come back year after year to enjoy the traditional children‟s games and races, side stalls, young farmers entertaining us with sheep shearing and tossing the bail competitions as well as bucking bronco, welly and egg throwing competitions(not all together). The main highlights of the day are of course the hilarious terrier racing and the duck race when 4,000 plastic ducks jostle for position in the race down the River Washburn. We raised a fantastic £1100 and our grateful thanks go to those who sold tickets and our volunteers who came to help out on the day, without whom we could not run this event.
