£5000 raised at Charity Ball

This year is the 30th anniversary of the MNDA and the 21st birthday of the Yorkshire Dales Branch. What better way to celebrate than to have a BALL.

On 20th June, The MNDA Dales Branch held a Ball at York Racecourse. It was a truly splendid evening. For entertainment Rebecca Newman serenaded us during pre dinner drinks and the meal.

An excellent dinner was followed by a raffle with very generous prizes. Duncan Wood from Yorkshire Television compered a splendid auction and guests returned home with great prizes including photographic sessions, football memorabilia and many more.

After dinner there was gambling for anyone who fancied their chances at pontoon and roulette. Guests danced the night away to the sound of “Morris and the Minors” and a great evening was had by all.

All this and raising £5000 -- good stuff.

The evening was organized by Julie Holmes and Genia Rourke and everyone agreed they had done a fantastic job! Our grateful thanks go to both of them.
